Turkish Yogurt Sauce (Caçık)

Turkish Yogurt Sauce (Caçık)

This is an absolutely lovely yogurt sauce serving as an accompaniment to several very delicious side dishes such as Sarma Dolma (Stuffed Grape Leaves) or Stuffed Peppers, Grilled Lamb Chops, and so many more Mediterranean dishes you will find in cuisines like Turkish, Greek, Bulgarian, Georgian, Azerbaijani and more. Make it with the freshest of herbs you can find- the dried variations simply don't have the same affect.

Ingredients

2 cups whole milk yogurt

2 clove garlic, minced

2 tablespoons each fresh mint, dill, parsley

Juice of ½ lemon

Salt and pepper, to taste

Directions

Mix all ingredients to combine. Taste for flavor, adjust if necessary. Keep refrigerated until ready to use. Pour over cooked grape leaves upon serving, with a lemon wedge on the side.

Afiyet Olsun!
